Employment Opportunities

We are looking for talented individuals to join our team. Current openings are listed below along with the date of their posting.

Certified Flight Instructor

Our company strives to be the most logical resource for primary flight training and aircraft rental in the region. We achieve that by offering instructors with unique talents who are current or former (retired) professional pilots who are interested in giving back to newer generations of pilots through high quality instruction. We presently have a position open for a contract flight instructor.

Requirements:

  • Current CFI Certificate (can assist with reinstatement if expired)

  • FAA Class 3 or higher medical certificate (can discuss BasicMed with insurance if applicable)

  • 2,500 Total Time

  • 50 hours PIC Tailwheel

  • 50 Hours Dual Instruction Given (or 1,000 hours PIC in a crew environment)

  • Current or former revenue PIC or SIC experience in Part 91, 121, 135 or 137 environments, or military flight time.

Preferred:

  • ATP (Airline Transport Pilot Certificate) and/or CFII

  • 500 hours PIC Tailwheel

  • 250 hours Dual Instruction Given (or Part 135/121 Instructor or Check Pilot Experience)

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Austere conditions (Alaska/OCONUS), Low-Level Operations (recon/survey, aerial application, LE/SAR/Defense, fire), radial engine operation, aerobatic flight, international part 121 flying, or other unique experience that we didn't mention.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Compensation is by 1099 for a contractor. If desired, we can discuss a W-2 wage but 1099 is preferred.

  • The company charges a standard rate of $45/hr per flight, and $35/hr for ground instruction in accordance with our core values. For contractors, this is paid in full for hours submitted. We can discuss higher rates on a case by case scenario but do not want compensation to be the number one motivating force:

    • Many of our students are with us because they are sacrificing elsewhere in their life to pay for flight training.

    • The founder has 'a real job' as a cargo pilot and derives great satisfaction from offering an alternative to the hustle and bustle, glamour, and debt burdens of Part 141 schools. His involvement as a flight instructor is limited to about 15 hours per month and therefore does not rely on the income for much more than beer money.

  • Excellent commercial insurance (covering instructors) on the aircraft in both hull and liability.

  • Highly motivated students who are often employed full time and are willing to listen respectfully, learn all they can, and study hard to full in the gaps.

  • Flexibility in instruction afforded by 14 CFR Part(s) 61 & 91.

  • A current waiting list of screened clients/students and the opportunity to fly as much (within reason) or as little as you want.

  • A wholly owned classic airplane that is maintained to a high standard of airworthiness.
